Who Should Enrol?
The CMI Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management and Leadership is suitable for first-line managers, team leaders, supervisors, and aspiring managers who are responsible for managing people, monitoring performance, or contributing to team and organisational outcomes.
It is also appropriate for individuals who have completed the CMI Level 3 Award and wish to broaden their management knowledge by topping up to the Certificate.
CMI does not specify formal entry requirements; however, centres must ensure learners have sufficient capability to undertake learning and assessment at Level 3.

Progression
Completion of the Certificate allows learners to top up to the CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management and Leadership, using accumulated credits. The qualification also supports progression into further management and leadership development.
Awarding Organisation
This qualification is awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is regulated by the Qualifications Regulator (Ofqual).
Course Duration and Support
The Certificate has a minimum Total Qualification Time of 130 hours, including 55 Guided Learning Hours. Learners receive tutor guidance, assessor feedback, and internal quality assurance support in line with CMI requirements.
Delivery Methods
The course is delivered 100% online, allowing learners to study at their own pace.
Assessments
Assessment is conducted against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria. A range of assessment methods may be used, including written assignments, reports, and structured assessment activities.
There are no written examinations.
Assessment decisions are made on a Pass/Refer basis.
