Functional Skills Maths Level 1 is designed for learners who need practical mathematical confidence for employment, apprenticeships, further education and independent life. It develops mathematical skills across number, measures, shape, space and handling information and data.
The official award is the Highfield Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 (603/4996/7). It is a regulated Functional Skills qualification intended to help learners apply essential skills in purposeful, real-life contexts rather than study the subject only as abstract theory.
HHF Training's online Functional Skills Maths Level 1 course combines guided content with practice, feedback and assessment preparation. Examples are drawn from household budgeting, wages, travel, construction measures, retail calculations, tables and statistical charts, enabling you to understand why each skill matters and how to use it outside an examination.
Functional Skills Maths Level 1 may be suitable if you want to:

Unless the product description or a written offer expressly says otherwise, additional assessment attempts are charged separately. Contact HHF Training before purchase if you require an exam-only service.
Assessment delivery arrangements depend on the level, component and approved Highfield method available through HHF Training. Before booking, you may be asked to confirm your location, identification, equipment and ability to meet assessment conditions.
Do not assume that a mobile telephone or tablet will be suitable. HHF Training will confirm the applicable arrangements before the assessment date.
If you have a disability, learning difficulty, medical condition or temporary need that may affect Functional Skills Maths Level 1, contact HHF Training as early as possible. Reasonable adjustments must protect the qualification standard and may require evidence and approval before the assessment is scheduled.

After successfully completing every required component of Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and the applicable quality-assurance process, you will receive the Highfield Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 awarded by Highfield Qualifications.
Level 1 demonstrates practical subject skills above Entry Level and can support employment, apprenticeships and progression to Level 2. It should not be described as automatically meeting a requirement that specifically asks for GCSE grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2.
Successful completion of Functional Skills Maths Level 1 can support progression towards Functional Skills Mathematics Level 2. It may also strengthen the practical skills used in employment, apprenticeships, vocational learning and independent life, depending on the learner's wider goals.
Always check the current requirements of the receiving course, employer, apprenticeship provider or professional body. HHF Training cannot guarantee acceptance by a third party.
