  • Provide valid ID and complete an application form.
  • Have access to two real service users in a suitable workplace, voluntary role or service setting.
  • Arrange assessor observation of your work with both service users.

Practical Requirements and Assessment

Complete a portfolio that meets both units’ learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Written work alone cannot complete the practical assessment.

You must provide information, advice and guidance to at least two real service users. Your assessor must observe your work with both.

During each interaction, explore the client’s needs and barriers. Help them review priorities and options. Summarise the discussion and agree further support. Record contacts, agreements and information using your organisation’s systems.

Your portfolio includes observation records, client interaction and action records, written work on laws and procedures, and reflection. Your assessor may also ask for witness evidence, answers to questions or further work to fill gaps.

Get informed consent and follow safeguarding, privacy and data-handling procedures. Remove personal details where appropriate and submit work securely. Agree any recordings or alternative observation methods in advance under iCQ guidance.

Online Learning, Duration and Tutor Support
