CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading
The CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading is designed for individuals who are new to team leadership roles or aspiring to become team leaders. This qualification equips learners with essential knowledge and practical skills to lead teams effectively, support organisational objectives, and contribute to operational success in the workplace.
This Award also forms part of a progressive qualification pathway, allowing learners to top up to the CMI Level 2 Certificate and Diploma in Team Leading, with credits and units accumulated as they progress.

Who Should Enrol?
The CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading is suitable for aspiring or newly appointed team leaders, supervisors, or junior staff with leadership responsibilities; employees preparing for their first leadership role; and individuals seeking a recognised Level 2 management qualification.
CMI does not specify formal entry requirements; however, learners should have sufficient communication skills to complete written assignments.

This Level 2 qualification develops practical team-leading skills that focus on real workplace leadership responsibilities and day-to-day team management.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to understand the role and responsibilities of a team leader, lead and support team members effectively, apply leadership skills to achieve team objectives, communicate clearly and professionally within the team, and demonstrate effective leadership behaviours in the workplace.
Top-Up Progression Pathway
After completing the Level 2 Award, learners may top up to the CMI Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading (15 credits) and further top up to the CMI Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading (38 credits). Units achieved at the Award level count toward the Certificate, and units achieved at the Certificate level count toward the Diploma. There is no duplication of learning or reassessment.
Awarding Organisation
This qualification is awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), regulated on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and recognised by employers in the UK and internationally.
Course Duration and Support
Typical duration is 6–8 weeks, with a maximum completion period of up to 6 months. Learners receive tutor guidance, assessor feedback, internal quality assurance oversight, and email and WhatsApp support during office hours.

The course is delivered 100% online, allowing learners to study at their own pace.
Assessments
Assessment is through written assignments and workplace-based examples where applicable. There are no written examinations.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive the CMI Level 2 Award in Team Leading certificate. The certificate does not specify the mode of study. International learners are responsible for paying all courier charges, plus a 15% service and bank transaction fee to cover processing and handling. These fees must be settled before the certificate is dispatched.
