Learning Outcomes:

Teaching Placement: Minimum of 250 hours, including:
- 150 hours of teaching practice
- 100 hours in the trainee’s subject area
Digital Teaching Practice: Trainees must gain experience in online or remote teaching, either through direct delivery or structured digital activities.
Two Teaching Locations Required:
- Second placement must be at least 20 hours (can include professional practice, not just teaching).
- If a second provider isn’t possible, variation can include:
- A different subject or venue with the same provider.
- Professional Practice Activities (included in placement time) may involve:
- Team meetings
- Lesson planning
- Assessments
- Observations
- CPD sessions
Mentoring & Support
Trainee must have access to:
A Subject Specialist Mentor:
- Must teach in the trainee’s subject area.
- Provides 30 minutes/week of support.
- Involved in subject-specific assessments.
A Pastoral Mentor:
- Offers general guidance and support.
- Also provides 30 minutes/week of mentoring.
- Supports progress reviews and communication with the provider.
Prerequisites:
To enrol, learners must:
- Be at least 19 years old.
- Have a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Be computer literate.
- Have access to a teaching placement or opportunity to teach learners aged 14+.

Delivery Methods
The course is delivered online, allowing learners to study independently. Teaching practice must be completed in an approved FE setting.
Assessments
This qualification requires a portfolio of evidence supported by real teaching practice. Learners will:
- Plan and deliver teaching sessions observed by a qualified mentor or assessor.
- Produce lesson plans, schemes of work, and self-evaluation reports.
- Provide evidence of learner engagement and differentiated instruction.
- Submit written reflections and professional development plans.
