How Functional Skills English Entry Level 2 Is Assessed
To achieve Functional Skills English Entry Level 2, you must complete all required Highfield assessment components and meet the relevant standard in each component. Practice activities and mock assessments help you prepare, but they do not replace the formal assessments.
👉 Speaking, Listening and Communicating
Speaking, Listening and Communicating is assessed through two tasks: a presentation with questions and answers, and a group discussion. The centre assesses this component, and Highfield moderates it.
👉 Reading and Writing
Highfield sets the written Reading and Writing assessments. You must complete both components to earn the qualification. A calculator may be used where Highfield allows it.
The £169 course fee includes the first scheduled attempt at each required assessment. Extra attempts, missed appointments, late changes, extra components or special arrangements may cost more under HHF Training's terms. HHF Training confirms the assessment date and arrangements before booking.

Certification and Recognition
After successfully completing every required component of Functional Skills English Entry Level 2 and the applicable quality-assurance process, you will receive the Highfield Functional Skills Qualification in English at Entry Level 2 awarded by Highfield Qualifications.
Entry Level 2 is an Entry Level qualification designed to support confidence and progression. It is not equivalent to Functional Skills Level 1 or Level 2 and should not be advertised as a GCSE equivalent.
