Before enrolment, provide your existing certificate and unit transcript for HHF to check credit transfer or recognition of prior learning against the iCQ certificate rules. Who Is This Course For?

Qualified IQAs who have already achieved the IQA knowledge and practical units and now lead or coordinate an IQA team.

Choose the route according to what you need to do in practice. Check your employer’s requirements and the settings where you will assess or assure assessment before you enrol. HHF can discuss your existing experience, access and support needs.

What You Will Learn: Lead IQA Top-Up

Through this course, you will develop an organised approach to your professional responsibilities.

  • Develop practical work plans for an IQA team.
  • Allocate responsibilities according to skills, resources and priorities.
  • Monitor progress and the quality of completed work.
  • Give feedback, resolve problems and review work plans.

Apply the learning to your own subject and setting. Your assessment briefs explain the evidence needed for each learning outcome; a list of activities alone is not sufficient for certification.

Entry and Practical Access Requirements

HHF’s existing course information specifies learners aged 19 or over, suitable English reading and writing skills and the subject knowledge needed for their intended role.

Before enrolment, provide your existing certificate and unit transcript for HHF to check credit transfer or recognition of prior learning against the iCQ certificate rules. The top-up covers one 5-credit leadership unit; the full certificate requires 17 credits across three units. You need genuine opportunities to plan, allocate and monitor IQA team work. Intending to become a leader without access to real practice is insufficient.

You will need internet access, a suitable device and the identification documents requested for registration. Tell HHF about additional learning needs before starting so support and reasonable adjustments can be considered. Check your eligibility before enrolment.

Assessment and Evidence Requirements

Submit authentic work-based leadership evidence such as work plans, allocation records, team communications, monitoring records, feedback, progress reviews and reflective accounts. Your assessor agrees observation and professional discussion arrangements and checks every criterion in the leadership unit. The certificate can only be claimed once the two previous units are accepted and the new leadership unit is successfully assessed.

Agree a realistic evidence plan with your assessor at induction. Keep your work organised against the unit criteria, retain the relevant records and respond to feedback where further evidence is required.

Protect learner and centre information in accordance with consent and data protection arrangements. Submit evidence through the approved course channels. Successful assessment and quality assurance are required before certification.

Online Learning, Duration and Tutor Support

HHF provides online study resources, assessment guidance and tutor support. The existing course completion period is 1–3 months.

Plan time for reading, written work, any practical activities and responding to feedback. You may finish earlier when the evidence is complete, but practical access and quality assurance affect the overall timetable.

HHF provides ongoing email support, typically replying within 24 hours, and WhatsApp support during office hours, 9am–6pm Monday–Saturday. Contact the team for access or registration questions; use your tutor for learning and assessment guidance.
