Assessment & Verification Courses: Entry Requirements and Practical Evidence

Entry and evidence requirements vary across the assessment and quality assurance suite. Knowledge-only awards may be completed through written evidence, but competence-based qualifications require access to authentic assessment or quality assurance practice.

Be occupationally competent in the subject or vocational area you intend to assess or quality assure.
Have access to real learners, assessors, assessment evidence or quality assurance activity where required by the selected qualification.
Use authentic evidence from current practice; simulation is not accepted where the qualification requires real assessment activity.
Obtain appropriate permissions and protect confidential learner, employer and centre information.
Participate in observation, professional discussion, sampling or other practical assessment activity where required.
Confirm that your role and evidence access are suitable before enrolling on a competence-based IQA, Lead IQA or EQA qualification.

👉 Practical Assessment and Quality Assurance Evidence

Practical units cannot be achieved through written assignments alone. Depending on the qualification, learners may need to plan assessments, assess real learners, make and record decisions, give feedback, sample assessment evidence, observe assessor practice, conduct standardisation activity or complete external quality assurance activity. Your assessor will confirm the evidence required for your chosen route.
